Recombinant Human Serum Albumin (rHSA), Yeast
Yeast-derived rHSA, supplied as an Animal-Origin-Free 20% liquid solution for cell culture, formulation and bioprocess development.
Canvax™ Yeast-Derived Recombinant Human Serum Albumin (rHSA) is a high-purity recombinant protein produced in Pichia pastoris. It provides an Animal-Origin-Free (AOF) alternative to human plasma-derived albumin for research and bioprocess development.
This ready-to-use 20% liquid solution offers ≥95% protein purity and ≥95% monomer content. Its controlled protein quality makes it suitable for cell culture, protein stabilization, and biopharmaceutical formulation development.
Recombinant human serum albumin helps stabilize proteins, minimize aggregation, and reduce non-specific surface adsorption. These properties support various biological formulations and downstream bioprocessing applications. However, users should evaluate its performance under their specific formulation conditions.
rHSA Rice-derived also available.
Looking for GMP-grade recombinant human serum albumin? Canvax also offers a separate GMP-grade rHSA option for regulated biomanufacturing projects. Contact our team to discuss availability, technical documentation, and manufacturing requirements.

When selecting recombinant proteins for our formulation work, we also consider where the material is manufactured. Having a European source of yeast-derived human serum albumin is particularly valuable for our team, as we prefer working with suppliers closer to our facilities. The 20% liquid format is also convenient for preparing different working concentrations.

We are currently evaluating recombinant albumin for a project that may eventually require GMP-grade raw materials. What caught our attention was the possibility of obtaining a GMP-grade version of the same yeast-derived protein upon request. This is an important consideration for us when selecting materials during early formulation development, as we want to anticipate future manufacturing requirements.
